About me
My name is Kate and I’m a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, with over 15 years’ experience working in Mental Health in both the NHS and private practice.
I know it can be hard and even scary to reach out and ask for help but it can also be life changing. I offer a compassionate and safe place for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours using the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) approach. I always lead with empathy and will work at your pace to make sure that you feel comfortable and supported.
As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I am registered with the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy), which means that I have received the correct training to become a CBT therapist, I have met the professional standards of the BABCP and I am held accountable by the BABCP. This is an important factor to look out for when looking for a therapist.
More about me:
I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and I am proud to support members of the community, please click here to read more about this.
I am also passionate about supporting people who are neurodiverse, although I don’t have an official diagnosis, I do resonate with the ADHD diagnosis and have close relationships with people who are Autistic, so have a good understand of both diagnoses. I have done further training in CBT for Neurodiversity, to learn more about this please click here.
Outside of my time as a therapist I love animals, particularly dogs and love walking in nature, if you would like to arrange your sessions to include walks in nature then let me know.
Here is a quick video of me so you can get to know me a little bit before making getting in touch.
